Happy Science Fiction Writer's Day!!!

  • Jun. 23rd, 2009 at 9:47 AM

Quick post just to wish all the authors I enjoy a Happy Science Fiction Writer's Day.  Personally I am expanding the meaning of Science Fiction to include any who write elements that fall outside of the realm of currently proven to be true :D because I think they all deserve recognition.  Thank you for sharing your worlds and giving me hours of entertainment and a lifetime of using my imagination!

Yes I admit...

I am not good at keeping to a writing schedule.  Which means I have the utmost respect for those who do and make a living doing that.  So I am going to try something new.  We will see how that goes and just in an attempt to reduce my guilt I am not saying what that new thing is until I actually have it up and working.

First a long overdue update:  I successfully completed the Army 10-miler and dropped 5 minutes from my time last year.  Since I am slow I am not telling what my time was just the improvement :)  Hooray!  Must keep training for next year.

Second I got this quote from a comment posted on the FFF group.  It has such meaning so I thought I would share it here.
A child who can love the oddities of a fantasy book cannot possibly be xenophobic as an adult. What is a different color, a different culture, a different tongue for a child who has already mastered Elvish, respected Puddleglums, or fallen under the spell of dark-skinned Ged? --Jane Yolen in Touch Magic

Third a truly random thought/question of the day:  What/where is the dividing line between Eastern and Western?  At first I tried continents but Europe (to me) has both.  Any comments/opinions?
Till next time :)
